I've read that you can use the hex end of a dodge car torsion bar if you have one handy.

~1" Nut IIRC will work, might need to hit it with a flapwheel to knock the edges off a bit.
Use a piece of allthread or weld on an 1/2" drive extention.

Thanks for the info. Went out and bought a 1'' nut for $2. Had a piece of tube and an old 1\2'' socket laying around. Looks just like the one in the pic. :p
