I want to set up a flag pole for our camp this year at the hammers , Im thinking a 20 foot stick of 1 1/2 DOM , mounted to a receiver hitch in one of the tow rigs
does anyone think the 1 1/2 dom will hold up to the winds , the flag is 27 x 54

for years i have run a 3'x5' flag on 30' of 1 1/2 aluminum tube-----clamped to the corner of my camper-
last year the flag blew apart- but the pole held--
my pole breaks into 4' sections for storage-
lookin for another 'skull/bones' flag-

What are you guys using to make a tight sleeve to make the connections between sections of pipe for these flag poles? I'm thinking about throwing something together before we leave.

sound guy--- i happened to be at a 'surplus' store and found some sections of aluminum tube-- i think it was for some type of antenna system--- thin walled, slip together , 3' sections---- i clamped one section to the corner of the camper--- now i can add/subtract sections to @ 40'---
the joints slide together @ 4" and have a anti-rotation tab/notch at the joint---- but by lifting 1/2" i can furel the flag in a wind to make it more manageable

I threw a couple cane poles onto CJ5Buggy's trailer before he left to fly a flag or 2 off of. Hope the AG check stations don't strip search him in the median for having them on the trailer.
If they make the trip and hold up we will be flying;
Frank's home state of Georgia's "real" flag,

The Moultrie Flag to represent my home state of South Carolina,

Another SC inspired flag,The Gadsden.

And Last, but definatly not least, is the South Carolina Secession Flag.
('cause unlike you Texas boys WE have actually done it)

Please Stop by and drink a beer with us, but please don't point and laugh at our cane poles.......
