Has anyone a scout 80 tub on an 800 frame?
I would like to get a 800 chassis and front clip for the v8 heavier axles etc. and put my '63 scout 80 tub and tops on it.
This is another option i am looking at to repower my '63 80 with the buick in it.

I don't think the 80 and 800 4cylinder frames are any different. Sounds like a lot of work when you could just change axles and move the front cross member forward to fit a IH V8. I have a buddy who did it and thats all he had to do.

I belive he wants a 8 cyl frame. one major advantage of having a bare frame is you can modify and repair it, as long as you don't have a body on it.
little harder when the body is attached

Greetings fellow Scouters
I'm working on the 80/800 frame swap.
Currently getting info and parts.
Current plan is to use a 800 v-8 frame, add 392, t-19, d-300, scout II D-44s. I have a line on a 800 frame, looking for a 1980 II or Terra/traveler to get parts off.
Body will drop right on new frame. I'm going to use a 2 inch body lift to clear the bigger engine.
Front and rear SOA, using SII axles.
Should have plenty of room for rest of power train.
Need to get drivelines made- probably by Tom Woods. GryphinRacing (www.GryphinRacing.com) will be tapped for steering links.
Most of this is still in the theorizing stage.
