Have a rear D60 from a late 70's F250 and I need to swap out the yolks (1350 to 1410). Do I need to tear the rear appart or can I just swap them and set the preload? I read somewhere that they use a crush sleeve, but I don't know if I need to replace it during the swap or what. Thanks.

You are SUPPOSED to get in there and replace the crush sleve.... But.....
Get a inch pound torque wrench, beam style, and measure your rolling resistance now, before you tear it apart. Then swap the new yoke on and add about 3-5 inch lbs more.

Thanks! Should I pull the axles out of the carrier before doing this? When I did my Dana 44 Front I just unloncked the hubs.

Yes.
The more stuff you can pull the more accurate the reading.
