Not too sure how the links will work though i told Eugen(the guy i work with) that i think they are a little short.

RUFF
10-06-2002, 05:39 AM
I think because of how short they are that they will bind when flexed right up.

RUFF
10-06-2002, 05:46 AM
We also made this real; cool coil locator that will guide the spring back in after it has droped away at full droop.

 I hope nobody tries to drive that thing.

RUFF

So what do you reckon will all this work.
Eugen says his mum told him how to do all these mods and she knows her shnit.

You know, I've always thought having two springs was too complicated. Why bear the expense when you can get away with one? :shaking:

Also i can't convince Eugen that the break lines will get hung up on stuff if we leave it where it is but he assures me it will be just fine.

I think i might just use some cable ties just in case.

Where the hell do you guys find these trucks? I've seen some poorly built rigs... But DAMN!

I'm guessing that this was done as a temp. thing, so it could be set aside for a while. Please tell me I'm right.

one totally trick suspension. Are you guys gonna sell that in kit form? Probably wont even need a disclaimer. Maybe you should write one up to go with this if you sell it as a kit.:flipoff2: :D

so how do I get one of these kits? I got some money burning a hole in my pocket and that kit is awsome! I think though that the links should be remade with pvc! It's stong and has lighter weight!:flipoff2::flipoff2:

we dont recommend the use of glue as it will disolve in the hot australian climate, but once again it is up to your personal choice.
I also might point out that if you only use the shock and dont buy the coil, coil overs are alot cheaper.

believe it or not we looked at this, it was too hard to get good penetration with a welder into the PVC, although we did try and melt it together with a cigerette light, didnt really work aswell as we had hoped.

Does Bootie Fab University offer correspondance cources? Your work is top notch and I feel our motor vehicle regulatory office would approve work like that as if it were their own.

Yup, the rear is clearly just tack-welded in place for location purposes. OTOH, doesn't look like he's headed the right direction with this thing either

of course they do.

That is some of the best work i have seen come out of any shop.

I dont care what any of these guys say, bootie fab does quality work.

Pay peanuts get monkeys. At bootie fab you pay a bit extra than an average shop but you sure cant argue with the quality. I am waiting for westpac to come good on that loan so i can ship my truck upto bootie fab for a full on comp truck make over!

stuff that loan off mickbj42, we will gladly swap your rockwells for some of our narrow track sidekick diffs (think of the weight savings) these a re little corporates as well (like a 5 bolt) :flipoff2: saves getting a loan i guess

I would like your guys professional opinions on whether this qualifies as bootie fab. I have attached a picture as you always suggest that with no picture there is no proof.

I can't really work out what the hell is going on anyways, but it is more aussie engenuity at its best.

EDIT: just follow the link direct as downlinking isn't allowed I guess....

With this single link on the top mounted to a crossmember we are still to add i think we should get some good flex.

RUFF, first of all there is nothing wrong with your welds. You have great penetration so there is no need to add a bunch of booger weld in there and gob things up. Now, secondly with that last post of your new link, it appears you guys have been working on this ingenious project long before now. Those welds are well rusted! You guys have held out on us wheelers with the latest and greatest of engineering, design, and fab work. What were you waiting for, for this sport to cease all forward progress of design and ingenuity before unvailing your designs? Shame on you! Your mean! But keep on improving your design, you guys get an A+ for devotion. John

cj8scrambld

Looking back at your 1st pic, I think you guys were on the right track. But I think if you used one of those rubber bungees per side and attached it front to rear from front frame mount under axle to rear frame mount and then welded the rubber bungee at the axle you would have much better flex and a more positivley located axle...because of the rubber being welded TO the axle and not just being a full floater under the axle. If more height and flex is needed you could weld the rubber bungee on top of the axle in a BOA (Bungee Over Axle) configuration. You guys are all over it!

camo

you guys must have a lot of free time. if you have enuff time to build pracctial jokes like this why not build a real rig you can wheel ?

RUFF
06-21-2003, 06:15 PM
You are saying that some people actually wheel their rigs

It has been a top secret project, hence we had to keep the pictures off the net. Can't have the competition spying on us.
