J Bruce 10-06-2002, 07:09 AM This weekend I got a new toy. I picked up a '52 M38 with a Buick V6. Unfortunately it didn't come with a tranny or transfer case. The M38 originally had a T90 and a Dana 18. I've got a T18A and a Dana 20 that I'd like to put in there. Will the T18A bolt up to the Buick/T90 bellhousing? Here's the Jeep.... If you have the Jeep CJ version of the T18, you need a 1" adaptor to get it to work with the buick bellhousing. If you have a jeep j-truck or wagoneer T18, you need a new shorter input shaft. If you have a converted Ford T18, you can follow the directions at www.novak-adapt.com on modifying it to work with a GM bellhousing. That's the answer I was looking for. I've got the wide ratio CJ version of the T18. So I'm looking at a 1" plate to adapt mate the T18 and the Buick bellhousing? I can deal with that.
