I’m 99% sure this will work. Using the tail housing from a 80’s Grand Waggy to mate up a Jeep Dana 300 to my IH 727. Four questions:

From what I can tell the Dana 300 is not much longer than a 20, so I should not need to modify driveshafts

The Dana 300 should hold up to the Scout, if I should break it, I would upgrade to the AA rear output

Jeep 300’s only come with the six bolt circular pattern with 21 spline input, correct?

Anyone on this board done this with a Scout?

I figure I’ll do the swap, which will get me to 2.6 in the T-case, finish the other work on the Scout, SOA, 4.10’s and rear Detroit, then install a 4:1 Terra kit for nice low gearing.

My Buddy Steve did it to his scout works like a charm and the drive lines worked with out any mods. The only thing to change is the sucky Jeep strap style u-joint yokes.

All right you schooled me on the archive, I admit it I was lazy and did not do a search. I did a search after the fact, it even worked this time. Some good 300 swap reading, I'm not worthy. So the spline count is 23 not 21?
