: And the winner is..........!
texican 10-06-2002, 03:17 PM Nolen just stopped by the shop on his way back from Clayton where he won the " FWD/FWD Big Dog" challenge for Lone Star Cruisers. he left the trophy for us to display at the shop til "03 when he defends it. There was a decal from last years winner, but he and Josh decided we needed to claim it in a more permanent way.....He had to run a marked course blindfolded on his co pilots instructions, in typical Nolen fashion, he did most of it on 2 wheels and completely obliterated the competition, his time was around 4 minutes, second place was over 6 min. and the rest of the guys were around 10 minutes.
This MO FO must weigh 60 lbs.......

TxCruzr 10-06-2002, 05:35 PM Good Job Nolen...just one thing though. You didn't role when blindfolded? Maybe you should be blindfolded more often:flipoff2:
Who won it last year...from the small part of the sticker that is showing it kind of looks like a TAMOR sticker...

The Tamor guys came in second while defending their title with a 6min 54sec time.
I spanked their Aggie asses with a 4min 45sec time :flipoff2:
DavidW 10-06-2002, 07:18 PM That would have been awesome to see. Congrats Nolen. I knew I should have gone to Clayton.

Jason M 10-07-2002, 03:41 PM Cool,
I love it. Notice he did not roll when someone else was directing him????
:D
BTW, I am jealous...... :flipoff2:
wngrog 10-07-2002, 04:55 PM The automatic has SO MUCH MORE control when you get in impossible situations.
I just had some guys grab my winch rope while I eased through the tippiness this weekend twice.
Even as low as my gears used to be, i never had that kind of control.
On the blindfolded run we were on 2 wheels right at the end and he told me to turn right (downhill) and hammer it and we drove out of certain doom :D
TxCruzr 10-07-2002, 04:57 PM Notice he did not roll when someone else was directing him

I thought someone from Texas is a Texan, and a Texican has something to do with Mexico. Butch, you Mexican? :flipoff2:
(Or is there something to do with the Republic of Texas here?)
Andre (lookin' for his Coon-skin cap)...
texican 10-08-2002, 05:55 PM Nope, not Mexican, got lots of friends who are.....:flipoff2:
We were called, Texicans, Texians, or Texans, until after Sam Houston, while president of the republic, decided it need to be uniform so the legislature made Texan official....
Nope, no hidden agendas here, happy to be an American also.
texican is my ID because every other nickname I chose was already gone.....although I have never seen any of them here.....

The brakes actually work well enough. In 4 Low going downhill I really have to keep knocking it into neutral to keep from overpowering them.
Two of the guys were running HydoBoost brakes and I drove their junk on the trail some.
I REALLY liked it.
I may work on that in December...
As for the Auto...there is no way I could have driven that trail like I did with a Manual tranny. I LOVE the Auto!

Nolen, go get a FJ80 master. It will move enough fluid for ya..

Oh and Butch, I figured that even texans made fun of texans. Hell EVERYONE makes fun of texans ;)
