: cutting brakes on the front?

Did several searches and never got what I wanted so heres the question.
My sami based buggy (well it has the hood and fire wall) is almost done getting ready to run to install the brakes. I'm installing line locks to act the ebrake ( I know its not a real ebrake.) I'd like to do steer brakes. Problem is I'm running a sidekick auto tranny and tcase Mated to a toy case so I can't disconnect the rear wheels. Any one tried using them on the front? In my little brain its seems it would work if I was in rwd only and put my foot into it a little, it would pivot around. But i think this may only work in the dirt or slippery terrain. Anyone run this on the rocks?

yea it works. Usually you have to have the spotter drag the end around. It works realy well with four wheel steer. And depending on the position of the vehicle better in reverse. It is for sure woth hooking up while your doing you brakes.

An single line lock can control the front or rear brakes. Think about it what a line lock is, and how it works. ;)

It makes perfect sense. You either lock fluid pressure in or lock it out. Think about it.

I talked to the guy with the spider trax buggy at the RCAA finals about this very subject. He had cutting brakes for both front and rear. He basically said "Don't waste your time" as he never used the fronts in competition.

thats why I'd use 2 for the front and 1 for the rear .

I only plan on competing for fun and probably not that often.

i think I just convinced myself to run one in the rear for a pretend ebrake.

I was talking to a guy at the parts store about linelocks he mentioned a brand that had a check valve built in were you could energize the solenoid and then could tap the brakes locking that brake up. instead of the the brake press then switch...

You can buy the type you mention through Summit. I would not trust them for a parking break as I've been told they will leak down in time. At least don't leave the rig with one of those holding it on a hill.:)

would never leave it on a hill unattended plus its an auto so the little pin will help hold it. Its mainly there for those times when your waiting for some one to get outta the wayand my foots tired.

I guess just for the parking brake affect it may be best to do the fronts too.:)
