I picked up a DANA 60 rear out of a 1970 Chevy 2 wd today. The tag is still on it and says 4.46 it has 30 spline shafts and is 65" WMS to WMS. Are there any aftermarket5 shafts for this and can I convert it to 35 spline? If so whats the cost? Are there any easy disc brake swaps for this axle?
Thanks,

Is it a full floater, or semi floater, call up Randy's Ring and Pinion, or Moser Engineering.

yes there are 35 spline shafts for this axle. the problem is, the spindles have too small of an opening to run the 35 spline shafts because they stock shafts are 1.3, and the 35's are 1.5. so, you either need to buy the boring kit, or chuck them up in a lathe and run them out to 1.6. I also saw in a recent post that the dodge axles had spindles that would accept 35 spline axles, but I don't know........and as for the disc brakes, easy as pie. all you need is 3/4 front rotors (chevy) and 3/4 or 1/2 ton chevy (same thing) front calipers, and a caliper mounting bracket. there's a few company's that make these brackets, maybe someone will chime in with those companys? I am in the proccess of doing this swap and I am just going to make my own weld on brackets, and weld them to the axle tube instead of bolting them on. all you have to do is remove all your drum stuff, put the rotor in place of the drum on the hub, and then position your brackets and calipers, run the lines and you're in bussiness. I think that's all, may have missed something.....anyways, just my .02

If you have a SF then you can use Mark Willams High torque axels. They are 35spline and 1.5".
I can't recall how much I spent years ago on my D60SF rear.

They mostly handel drag racers and stuff.
