: Help- 5.0L V8 Oxygen Sensor (HEGO) Problem!

If anybody has any insight to my problem, please share.

I have a 1992 5.0L V8 H.O. EEC-IV. For some reason my 02 (HEGO) sensors are not switching. When I pull the codes, it indicates, "Sensors always indicate LEAN" 'Sensors not switching" It doesn't tell me a specific sensor, it just says that they are running lean. (ie left or right bank.)

Today I bought TWO brand new 02 sensors.......still NO luck.....codes still read the same.

After that, I did a continuity test probing the wires that go in to the computer, to the wires that go in to the oxygen sensors. Everything checks out fine.

HOW COME THIS IS HAPPENING? Everything else runs fine! (Note, I do have my EGR and TAD/TAB disconnected, will this cause the engine not to switch?)

Please help me out!

Thanks in Advance

Hey Al i think im having the same problems with my 2.9l

Had you ever changed the o2 on the 2.9?

My o2 i pulled was a bit white in color, and for the past two months, after driving 6miles my truck boggs down, i hit the gas and bleh no poop just bogg... and it wont go sometimes past 45. almost like i lost a cylendar. so i replaced the plugs, wires, changed the oil (needed it) and a new 02 sensor, and still no low end umph. just bogg :(
