: New Leaf Spring Design, No shackles! (pics)
bgreen 10-06-2002, 06:11 PM Amaizing technology here. Apparently these new fangled leaf springs dont need a movable shackle on one end, 'cause this guy had both ends welded up solid.
Brook
(should this be in chit chat?)
Look at the rope. What is the story on that? Judging by that, and the quality of what we are looking at. I would say that he is a jack ass.
Way
bgreen 10-06-2002, 06:15 PM Light weight lift blocks... This guy is way ahead of the curve, already thinking "light weight" :D and he is still running 31's
squirriljeep 10-06-2002, 06:16 PM Isn't that MR4WD's rig?
Maybe that's how you go about acheiving "gratuitous fullsize flex"?!
bgreen 10-06-2002, 06:17 PM extra long blocks in the back to eliminate that pesky spring wrap associate with so much lift :p
bgreen 10-06-2002, 06:20 PM Ive done some pretty horrible things to nice rigs (see avatar) but this sweety used to be a cj-5 :(
FAWK man..... I know how I am going to do my next setup!....thats cool....I even like that nice straight lined driveshaft...... .........LOL
Should I just shoot myself now???:flipoff2:
bgreen 10-06-2002, 06:28 PM Here is the best part of all :barf:

Now that is funny:p
BadDog 10-06-2002, 06:49 PM Oh my god, where does it stop.
Check out the incredible floating steering box with matching, equally amazing, steering links. Moving right along folks, notice the stacked "blocks" constructed from uncapped square tube complete with deluxe shock attachment points to control the axle when those flexy solid mount springs get going. And could anyone pass up those budget "coil overs"? And you too can enjoy this fine example of fabrication for the low low price of $3000! Easy, easy folks, no pushing, first come, first serve...
BadDog 10-06-2002, 06:52 PM You know, now that I think about it, maybe it's not so bad. I mean, really, can you think of anything better to do with a jeep? I can't. :flipoff2:
LOL! Sorry, couldn't resist...
I see nothing there worth over $200... He can;t seriously be asking $3k for that thing
larryboy 10-06-2002, 07:44 PM i think the grade 12 bolts are driving up the price by about $2800 or so.:D
Can you say "Booty Fab"?
It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand................
Bigger Valves 10-06-2002, 08:03 PM i'm liking the lower shock mount lift (on the lightweight lift blocks).. this shock mount lift is KEY to mucho ground clearance..

You called it bro, bootie fab for sure:eek:
bgreen 10-06-2002, 10:44 PM This thing is a real work of art. I cant beleive you fawkers cant appreciate it for what it is. :flipoff2:
I especially like how he welded both of the shackles so the spring cant flex, and then added a coilover and another shock. WTF. Didnt it ride bad enough with only the leafs?
The Exhaust stack clear above the drivers head is pretty cool too, especially since you would have to be wearing scuba gear to need it.
Then there is the netting around where doors would have been, but no seat belts. LOL
The rear rims are about 2" wider than the front.
Definately Booty Fab.
Buddha's Ghost 10-06-2002, 10:49 PM C'mon now. He's got a sweet steering stabilizer on there.
FULLSIZE 10-06-2002, 11:23 PM that makes me feel good about myself. thanks:D
i swear i could build a better rig out of the scrap pile at my buddies shop:laughing:
Blue-Beard 10-07-2002, 12:32 AM This rig represents the ultimate phase of 4wd! You think 4 link coilover susension is cool? That aint shiat how about welded solid suspension. You just wait, by next year we'll all be driving these!:barf: :barf:
SMART ASS 10-07-2002, 12:33 AM damit! howcome i never thought of that!!! :p  :flipoff2:
uglyscout 10-07-2002, 05:33 AM The tube lift blocks really do it for me - What was the phone # for this guy - I'll even take out a loan to pony up the $3000 for that "Bad Boy" ride!!
Damn! My Scout isn't even worth $3000 and I can drive it to the trails and back!

cowmooflage 10-07-2002, 06:24 AM He must tow alot of sh!t, I count 6 recievers under the springs alone:flipoff2:
I GET IT!
No need to raise the draglink or put hysteer arms on when you can just LOWER the steering box with some flatbar!
Damn, how many of us have waisted time doing that the wrong way?

Mmmm... Terras!
The tires are worth $100 each or better.
Sure, they're only 31s, but they're 15.5" wide directionals..
4Bangler 10-07-2002, 09:43 AM Well, I'm sure the winch is worth at least $200, add maybe $300 for the tires, and $2500 cash under the seat cushion makes that baby a steal of a deal for only $3000!
surlynkid 10-07-2002, 09:51 AM $3000 what? pesos??
4Bangler 10-07-2002, 09:52 AM Actually, after reviewing the pics further...... I don't think it's that bad of a deal, I mean, sure, it says "OBO" so I'd probably try to dicker a little, but I think I'd pay asking price.....
85TrailToy 10-07-2002, 09:54 AM Just thank God that P.O.S. is not being driven on the highway!
I'm thinking we need a Booty Fab hall of fame. (or shame)
