I am thinking of puting a blower on my 345. The only problem I see is the T-stat housing.
Has anyone modifed the goose neck so it doesn't block the front off. It looks like it would interfere with the belts.

Search the archives here and on the Binder, there is a guy who 'blew' his Scout, don't know if it was an IH motor.

Roots blowers are old school, And they replace the manifold! Get a Paxton style and no blower manifold needed.
This is not a sudject to bring up on a Rockcrcawling page! <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0">

My dad has a wrecking yard for 18 wheelers. I can get them for free.
I was told 4v71 or 6v71 will bolt onto my spreadbore if I fab an adaptor plate.
He is a good source for air tanks and IH emblems, gauges, etc. off of the big rigs for me.
Wonder if i could squeeze a 6V71 into my scout II, talk about friggen tourqe <g>
and besides, I have to swim through the mud to get to the rocks arounds here anyway )insert flip-off here, still havent learned how to do that yet)

Man OS, I thought that shaft would put you in a good mood. If someone wants to blow their wheeler, let em, the IH motors may not be the best choice, but I am up for anyone that wants to hop up an IH. I wouldn't, you wouldn't but someone always will.

I figger a blown 392 would be just the ticket. 8:1 CR is beggin' to be blown. Heck, rebuild it with the destroked pistons and taller head gaskets and you can get down to 7:1.
A stock 392 makes gobs of torque.. and a blower would just add another 20-40%, and at the bottom end, too.
Sounds like a plan to me.
I'd go with a Paxton blow-through. Ideally with a Holley ProJection. Seems like the most straightforward installation to me.

Not too grumpy today just Things do not add up here. If your looking at a blower that sits on top of the engine is going to be a roots style, most likly a 6-71 or 8-71 off of a detroit diesel.
They need a manifold, you do not bolt them to a carb flange! <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">
This is a blower manifold:
