Ok, I've got a narrow CJ7 and would like to go wider. I've got a Detroit and gears for a standard rotation D44. I'm woundering how wide I can go without outboarding my springs? I'm pretty sure(correct me if I'm wrong) that wide track CJ wms is 56" I'm looking for a junkyard swap and want to know what axles I can go with to achieve a nice wide stance. Something in between wide track CJ and YJ.

I'm pretty sure you have to outboard your springs to put anything on a CJ, unless it is a custom built axle. Did you try searching, heck the mission statement even says it. There are no junkyard axles for the front, that will bolt in.

79- waggie works good since you only have to cut one side.

If you wanted to go a little wider you can use a chevy 44 or 10 bolt. won't get you much wider then the waggie, again you have to cut one side.

You can cut one side of a WT chero 44 and get 60" without outboarding. This will match a late 80s 44 rear as well
