I searched under that and did not find anything, would this work ? the stock Tcase is the 272 just curious if it'll work since I have the 241OR case in my old '97  or would the torque make it :nuke:

I don't think the 241 would have a problem handling the torque.
My friends 241 has no issues, but his clutch is another story.
Just to show a little of what the truck goes through...

stock case is most likely a NV271 (manual) or NV273 (electronic shift)

you may be inclined to look for the DHD version of the 241. There are several threads on here and tons on the diesel boards about that case. Its pretty strong, but not nearly as strong as a 271 by comparison, so a lot depends on what you are going to be using the truck for.

I think you fail to comprehend why he wants a 241OR.

I haven't had a 241OR apart to know what the parts look like compared to the 241DLD or DHD, but I can tell you that even the DLD is up to the torque that most people would dish it with a diesel in front of it.

The cummins is my dd, tow rig, and huntin rig, I figured that it could benefit from the 4.1 reduction, and you're correct it does have the 271 (manual) I currently have the 241OR (rubicon case) in my '97 gasser, just wondered if it'll hold up to the cummins and it's torque.

I realise he wants an OR, and it will probably be ok ALA he is not towing heavy or drag racing. There is a pretty noticable difference between the OR and the 271 that it came with..

I dont think the Rock Trac case was rated to take 650 pound feet of torque from a 6L diesel motor, but i could be wrong on that, couldnt find any specs with the NVG site being down.
