Are there any locker options for a SF 14 bolt with a gov lock carrier?
If not does anyone know how to remove and replace the spiders in a gov lock? My buddy has a SF 14 with some damaged spiders. Ring and pinion both look good.
We removed the carrier and ring gear and tried to rotate the spiders out of the open side of the carrier. The thrust block does not allow them to rotate far enough before it hits the weights and junk on the opposite side of the carrier. The only way i can see to get the thrust block and spiders out is to remove the fly-weight and the centrifugal 'thing':rolleyes: I'm just unsure if the rods the gov lock junk are on are pressed in or???:confused:
He'd really like a lock right, but if they don't make one for a gov-lock carrier he'll be happy enough to replace the damaged spiders for now and live with the gov-lock.
Any help or info would be appreciated.
