I am putting a 14 bolt sf in the rear of my suburban. The rear 10 bolt has the GM g80 carrier. Will the rear g80 carrier work in the front 10 bolt? I have to change gears so everything will be apart.
Thanks

I wouldn't just for the simple fact that the G80 is worthless in terms of strength.

X2 on the gov-bomb, Tru-Trac is by far a better choice.

Before you order from summit, try pricing some lunchbox lockers from vendors on the board. I got a :smokin: price from wayne hartwig on here for a locker for my D60.

just one question: why are ya putting in a SF axle, when FF is so much stronger and in a 14 isn't really any different size wise? with so many in the wrecking yards they're pretty cheap and on a FF you can get up to 13x3 1/2 brakes or run rear disks. and also, why waste time and $ upgrading the 10 bolt when you're done you probably could have found a nice d60 for not much more?

I wanted to try to keep the weight down and keep the 6 lug wheels. I got the 14bolt for free as well, so I can afford to put some money into it.
The truck will be sort of a DD and baja type rig so I also figured the ff would be a little overkill for what I plan to do with it.

buddy of mine just managed to destroy a 14ff at pismo jumping it, twisted the axle tubes right in the housing. you must have found one of the "heavy half" 14 bolts for the six lug axles, free is always the best though. what size tires are you running?

I plan on a 4" lift with 35's. I will be getting the springs next week. I had some made a little longer.
