I was thinking about heading down to Daytona for bike week. The only problem is my truck is out of commission & the G/F's '06 Murano is slated to be the tow rig. I'll be pulling 2 bikes on a 18 ft trailer about 800 miles each way . The total weight is probably around 3000 pounds . The rated towing weight for the Murano is #3500. Anybody have any real world experience towing with one of these ?

With an 18' trailer and 2 bikes, I doubt you'll only be at 3K lbs. With that said, hook it up with the bikes on and see how it is. I think you'll be right at max rating, but if it tows good I'd try it.

MAKE damn sure u put an additional tranny cooler and it should pull it fine. Gas mileage is prolly gonna suck ass.

If you are inside the weight rating and she still has warranty, do it.

Why use an 18 footer, its only 2 bikes.

Oh PS. I have never been to trailer week. Ever consider riding the bikes there. Only pussies trailer a bike to bikeweek. See you there I will be one riding my bike, not trailering it.

EDIT, I just noticed that the OP is from Tennessee. Why not ride, it's not like you're in Washington state?

I have towed with a couple small SUV's. Get a tranny cooler and take it slow (65mph) and youll be fine.

Have fun!

I would do it only if you didn't want a girlfriend anymore...cause your gonna toast the tranny:flipoff2:

Just so you know the fluid alone is $18 - $20 per quart, yes it is CVT, and yes you will trash it. But thats just my opnion:homer:

You'll be the guy sittin' by the side of the road with a smokin' tranny waiting for AAA

My question is, Why are you pulling such a large trailer. a 6x12 would be way more then enough trailer for 2 gold wings, adn I am sure your bikes arent as big as a gold wing. Especially if you not gonna ride em there. SISSY:flipoff2:

Funny, cause I sometimes think the same thing about trailered 4x4's. If you can't drive it there, it is just a big ATV IMO. :flipoff2:
