So I picked up a loose pack of what I believe is South African 7.62x51 and was hoping someone could confirm exactly what I have? Most are stamped with 7.62 R1 M1 A80 and a few 7.62 R1 M1 WA80. I will be firing it through my cetme.

I can get it for sub $0.50 a round… should I buy more?
Brass worth keeping?

That is SA.
brass is berdan primed (not reloadable)
$0.50 is the going rate.
Good ammo.

It's South African. I have a .30 cal can full of it. It's decent stuff, good for plinking, as is most mil-surp 7.62.

Brass is good for taking to the recycler once you're done with it, since it is berdan primed...

It will be fine in your CETME.

Great ammo, fair price, enjoy it and don't bother with the brass.

Same thoughts as everyone else. Don't even bother trying to reload it, or anything shot through a CETME or G3 The fluted chamber stretches the neck of the case. Avoid the ammo from Pakistan in loose or blister packs if you can.
