i have a tilt column in my jeep and i plan to use it in my fj40/tube creation i am in the process of building. i believe the jeeps used a gm style column but i am not positive. anyway who has done it and what is involved?

I've done 4 or 5.......basically fab the bracket at the lower dash, I think at the firewall it's easier to fab up a piece of steel to cover the hole in the floor, mig it to the column. Some people fab a bracket on the engine side to hold the column......cleaner my way. You can use all wrecking yard components from the steering shaft to a Saginaw gear box.
Turn signals, and dimmer switch are fairly easy if you have GM & Toyota wiring diagrams.....did not try to connect the wiper switch.

thanks fro the reply

i have the column, steering shaft, etc. and no need to worry about wiring because i will be using the wiring harness from my jeep. no need to worry about saginaw box either since i run full hydro. i just plan to mount a brake pedal assy from a wagoneer (single pedal with the auto) and the current column in my jeep. i am sure i can figure it out once i take the column out of the jeep (not yet). i just thought i'd ask to get ideas dor when the time comes. thanks again. any pic's?
