I dont know if any of you guys will dig this or not, but I have started to convert a stock 392 intake manifold over to port fuel injection. When I first got my scout I noticed there was a perfect casting boss on each runner that I could machine to fit a fuel injection nozzle.I have finished machining the manifold, and I am now working on making the fuel rails.I will be using 5.0 ford electronics, computer and harness.I am going with th factory fuel injection parts for reliability. I will be machining the 5.0 distributor to work in the scout motor so the computer can also control the timing. Just in case, I am going to keep my holley 4 barrel and point distributor in my storage bin encase the fuel injection ever dies out in the bonnies I think everything should look pretty cool and run sweet when I get done.Hope you like the pics! (click the web page words below if I posted the the pics right)

Looks cool! How many lbs are the injectors? What are you going to use for a throttle body? How are you going to hook up a TPS and MAF?

Thanks for the words of support guys!
Old scout: For the throttle body I am probally going to mill a aluminum air box that will bolt in place of the carb that will mount the 5.0 ford throttle body on the side pointing slightly foward. The 5.0 throttle body has the mount for the tps and idle air motor built in. I am going to try to use the factory 5.0 mustang airbox mounted on the passenger fender, the maf sensor mounts right to the box.
Thanks!

I hope you got my email.

As I was saying I thought of doing this to my
392 using truck dodge parts . The biggest problem is that the I H manifold doesn't allow for long/straight enough intake runners to get air velocity up anywheres near what it needs to be.

If you notice all the intakes with port injection have eight to ten inch almost straight up/down round runners coupled with a huge air plenum box.

How do you plan to over come this? Thats why
throttle body injection can work with just a plain dual plain manifold. It mixes the fuel ahead of time simulating a fancy carb with no float bowls .

thanks

Very cool! This is the kind of stuff that I wish I could see more often. You just brightened my whole week
