Are the 73-77 and 78-79 front grill assemblies interchangable?
Or would we need to get the front quater panels as well if we wanted to update a 77 front to a 78-79?
Cheers.

Everything is the same but the headlight buckets.. you'd need those off of the newer truck.

To avaoid embarrasing myself in 2 seperate thread I thought I might ask one more fairly basic question here.
Are there any differences between radiators in V6 and V8 F-series?

I'm pretty sure there were several different sized radiators in these trucks. For basic questions like this, I'd suggest checking out the forum over at http://www.ford-trucks.com/. They have a whole forum just on 73-79 ford trucks. The guys here know plenty, but they're more focused on the hardcore wheelin and they'd be happier helping you run double transfer cases, boatside and throw rockwells under your truck.

Thanks for the directions mate. I was already a member here dude to another project that was a lot more extreme, but the GF insisted on buying a F100 so I had a few specifc f series questions. Once all the ford-specific crap is done it back into fabrication and the realm of pirate again :smokin:
Cheers.

If memory serves me there are three different size radiators for these trucks. I believe the 300-6 used its own radiator, the small blocks ran a narrower radiator unless it had A/C and the big blocks ran the larger radiator. The radiator support also had different size holes cut out for the radiator too but could be easliy cut out if need be. I am sure someone will chime in about the 300-6 and its radiator, it may have used the small block radiator but i am not sure since its hose inputs and outputs may have been in different locations.

- correction on the grills -
the 73-77 uses a diffrent grill shell than the 78-79. so to use a 79 grill in a 76 you would need the grill and the shell. the 73-75 had a diffrent grill than the 76-77. early 78 had round lights, late had square. but the hoods and fender and core support are almost identical.
there were a lot of radiator optins from 73 79 with various engine combos. there are three basic, small 2 core - med 2 core / 3 core - then a large 2-3-4 core. but almost anything is interchangeable

Thank heaps guys.
When I said 'grill' i was refering to the whole assembly so it's all good. I just didn't want to waste time tracking down a 78 donor only to find I needed to swap guards and re-paint etc...
