ok i did a stupid thing i was tightening my powersteering belt and broke the nipple off the vacumm advance module of the distributer. the hose that was attached to it runs to the carburater..will it hurt anything to run it for awhile with out fixing it. kind of short on time right now leaving for palo duro canyon next week and don't have any time for any repairs this week. if its stupid go ahead and flame me but i need to know the answer.

It'll run, but you've just lost your vacuum advance, so it won't be optimal.

Make sure you plug the vacuum line though.

No... you dont need a gear puller.

It's been awhile since I've looked at an AMC distributor but there is a chance you can get to the vacuum advance just by removing the distributor cap.

if it has the ford type distributor you just need to take the cap off and two screws out to remove it. takes less than ten minutes..

yeah and its adjustable so be sure to check your FSM to see how to set it. It will run but it will run kinda poopy Acceleration will suck and gas mileage. Might over heat too had that happen towing a boat before. The module wouldnt move and no vacuum leak but overheated...
