Cool video, Scherer & Nazir were hauling through there!

Hard to compare the cars that went on that far right line with those who hit the rollers. I thought Dave Cole's car looked really good through the rollers.:grinpimp:

Daves car looked good. Schere's car looked pretty good and there was another one moving pretty swift but no clue who it was.

Is Shannon in there somewhere?

Shannon is right at the start of the second video. Try to get the high res video up.

Is it just me or did the guys that committed to the whoops and stayed on the go-go looked a whole lot smoother than those that coasted through the rough stuff ???

never lift in the whoops.........thats like watching a snail race,,,,,,,need stiffer springs for whoops,,,,,,but most of them are running air shocks wich get a lot of shock fade in the whoops,,,,,,they get hot,,,,,

But it seems there were maybe 5-8 guys racing and the rest looking for rocks.

we were looking for boobies! and saw a set too! Our race wasn't planned, since I wasn't supposed to be driving. So, a nice conservative pace got us to the finish, open diff's and all...

Min 2:22 in the first video. It looked like it was working well. Can't tell from the vid though.

My car felt pretty good and looked decent in the video (#2, 6:50), but if I tried to go more than 45-50 in the whoops the rear end started changing lanes on me. More tuning is definitely needed!

The guys who committed to the whoops were smoother, they also all had their suspension fully sorted out, and I'd bet all of them knew the whoop line was there, and they they could get on it, and stay on it if they took that line. That's why whoops are rad, the rollers and up-downs can be unpredictable and it's hard to get a good rhythm going, on whoops, you can just drop the hammer and rail them until your shocks explode.

One of the coolest changes in the cars this year, was that many of them appeared to actually be working pretty well. Last year it seemed like a lot of people just slapped bypasses on and called it good, this year it seemed like many people did some real shock tuning.

At the time I didn't know Pook had worked a deal on driving the rig. I thought to myself when I saw Lippy come by" Fawk Larry is on it". Turns out it wasn't even him.

The rockbug was only 1 minute behind EZ at Race Mile 17 so Tracy must have been hauling ass. I wish that thing had stayed together.....love that buggy.

I was really happy with how well my car went in the rough. My car was round 6 min into the second clip. Mind you the clips are coming from very beginning of the race, and we were not pushing that hard early on.

Derek, when I bought my rig from Randy it was unpainted and it looked great that way.

I went wheeling and got caught in the rain on the way home, left the next day for Hawaii.

Came back a week later and the entire car was orange. It was terrible. You just can't live where we live and keep the chassis bare.

Like I tried to teach you when you was growin up, watch your mouth around ladies and strangers. You sound like a fool if you can't put a sentance together without a cuss word......but some times there is only one word that describes how you feel, in that case DGAF who is around let her fly.

Those big rollers sucked, you couldnt really time. I am the second car in the second vid right after mellow. Me and trout were talking about shocks the whole race, because we both were noticing that it seemed we were considerably faster in the desert than most. I think alot of people were exagerating how fast they were in the rough. I know we have tuned the piss outta the coilovers and bypasses all week and the week before and before V2R. I was hating the rocks and couldnt wait to get back in the desert! I remember Lucas Murphy flying up to pass me where there was a jam on crowbar, only to later blast past him in the flat:laughing:. The rocks sucked, the desert was super fun!!!:)

Every car we passed in the rocks was one less chance to get stuck in the bottleneck. It was a marathon not a sprint. How did you finish anyways?

All kidding asside. I was really happy with how fast we could go when we wanted to. My rig is 4600# and it is an entire world better than it was on air shocks. To only have 1 day of shock tuning on the car and go as well as we did in the rough I was psyched. We took it easy in most of the fast stuff so we could try to save the car and transmission.
