hey, is $3.20/ ft a good deal on 1.75" .12wall DOM... ? i can get it cheaper through one of our steel suppliers but this was an open market price quoted to me...

Not a good deal.

The local guys should be-able to beat a internet supplier that is selling ~1/3 the amount of steel. :rolleyes:

I pay right about that amount here in the SW...F'in crap is trucked to Santa Fe from Denver...I HAVE to deal with the middle man...O'well.

I'm on the East Coast, so your results may differ. It helps to buy in bulk.

2.000 OD 1.760 ID 0.120W $2.17ft
1.500 OD 1.310 ID 0.095W $1.55ft
2.500 OD 2.000 ID 0.250W $4.85ft

Got it from Marmon-Keystone, no tax, transportation and shipping included!

When I bought it from the local guy, welding/steel guy, I paid thur the nose!

What Jeepbeater said! I have found Marmon Keystone to have excellent prices. The one here in Denver has a $150 minimum order though, so just order up some extra. :D

I paid 1.99/foot when I bought mine from Marmen Keystone. The price goes up and down all the time though.

They sell the lengths in varying overall bunches between 20-24 feet, but the whole order comes with all the pieces the same length.

Hey Jeepbeater, Did you order through the New Castle, DE branch and get free shipping to a Baltimore residence or business?

Also how much did you have to order to get the free shipping? I am in Silver Spring and hope I could get the same free shipping deal.

I bought a lot of stuff, ended up combining my order with some guys building a monster truck down the street.

40 bars of 2" -- theses came in around 20'6"
3 bars of 1.5" ---these were 20'
3 bars of 2.5" ---these were 21'5"'

Grand total was like $2,200.00

Ordered my stuff from Gary Papazian 302/328-8000 in New Castle, but I had the tubing sent to Brunswick,MD so it came out of PA. It is a commercial address.

Was looking for some 1.75" DOM but they apparently do not carry that dimension, would have ordered 4 bars of that at the same time.


You have to buy bulk to get the pricing. Otherwise, you will get screwed on the price. The prices I get next time may be different. It just depends on when you call, what's in stock and how much you purchase.

for all of u on the east coast southern pa and northern md..if u need just 12 lengths or so here is where i get my tubing prices are ok..the guy has just about everything in dom and cro mo plus all other kinds of goodies like rod ends etc...
