if its a 2wd ranger I would just stick wtih the f-150 and chocp it up. For the amount of $$$ I have sent on my truck its still 2wd and I have a lot more to do so no telling how broke I am going to be when it all gets done. If I had it all to do over again I think I would have sold the ranger and gotten a bigger 4x4.

The biggest differance in 4wd and 2wd is the engine crossmember and its not THAT diffferent throw on 6" of lift or more with a SAS and u'll never know the differance.... the swaps arent that hard .....for your ranger info try www.therangerstation.com

I Have an 88 Ranger That Im about to build up. It is 2wd but I am going to throw a D44f, Ford 9"r, Np 435, Np205, 39" swampers. And A Fuel injected 302.

I am getting everything except the 302 from a $350 79 F100. But it has a runnning motor in it now, so we will see what I can sell it for.

I agree with the last couple posts here. The fact its 2WD isn't gonna matter much if you're swapping out the entire driveline like that. The frontend already has coils, the frame buckets can be easily used with eB coils/radius arms on the eB axle

If your going to buy all those EB part's just get an EB. Uh, most EB's are rotted into the ground, thats why EB PARTS are easy to get, but EB's cost out the ass.

Yeah, just chop up the full size. Should be sweet!

I have a '97 4x4 Ranger, that I'm adding a second transfer case, Dana 44 solid front axle and Dana 60 rear. It's a lot of work unless you use the standard conversion procedures (i.e. EB 44 with all the suspension hardware). Unfortunately I elected the harder method of building mine from scratch using coil-overs and a four link suspension! Still not done.
