Currently I am building up a CJ-7 and already have a SRW 14 bolt and 10 bolt front (yes :rainbow: but both were free, so I figure run it till it breaks). I would like to run Hummer wheels to keep the width down (have to keep it fairly legal for NY).
What is the best steering setup I could run?
Should I have the wheels narrowed at all?
I'm not super worried about the bus sticking out.

Keep in mind I want the tires in as much as reasonably possible.

Yes I used the search, in fact I have been reading crap for the last hour. But since not many people run the 10 bolt (once again :rainbow: )I haven't come up with much.

Do 10 bolts run flat top knuckles?? If you can run Hi-Steer arms, there are several companies making Hi-Steer arms just for hummer rim applications.
I did the search on this subject yesterday, rearched it for several hours. The info is definitly out there.

only the drivers side is flat top on a 10 bolt. you'd need to replace the passenger side then get the steering arms.

wheel spacers might work if you want to keep the steering in the stock location

I just don't understand how the "XtremeGod" could run a 10 bolt front :flipoff2:

Old name from freshman year in college and I was too lame to think of a new one for BB's so I just kept it. :/

So where would I get one for the pass. side?

I was figuring decreased backspacing over wheel spacers because that is what a certain individual who sells Hummer wheels told me would be better. Cheaper as well I believe.

try your search again, but this time use "Dana 44" instead of "10 bolt"

they use the same outers, and are interchangeable. I think the Pirate Bible might list the years with flat tops, and there is some grey area there. I think most Jeep and Chevy 1/2 and 3/4 tons from '74-'77..... but I could be way off.

and if you can't score a knuckle at a junkyard, post a want ad and you'll probably find one.. plain, milled or ready to go with a hi-steer arm mounted.

and if that doesn't work, or if you want a faster, more reliable method, check with part's mike, i think he sells both sides, and arms also.
