I'm using a modified B&M pro mag grip from summit, check out the billavista article here on p4x4.

Just bought a Winters shifter after doing ALOT of research on it. Search on here and you will find some good info. From what I figured out, the best are Lokar and Winters/Art Carr shifters. Just according to what you want. Im in the middle of swapping a 999 (32rh) into my YJ fyi

Same one I got for my build. Great quality and my dad has been running one in his scout and it works great

I'd recommend completely opposite of that. Since this isn't going into a full-on chassis you WILL get flex between the body and the drive line. This will end up causing things to shift or move at very inopportune times.

Imagine the vehicle twisted up on an obstacle and your tranny suddenly slipping into neutral

Stick with a reputable cable shifter. This allows for the body/frame/drive-line flex.

I use an Art-Carr/Winters shifter with modified gates in my Jeep. I wouldn't use anything else in an off-road rig.

The lokar mounts to the tranny not the tub - how the heck is it going to wind up in neutral?

And i thought my floor was bad because I drilled a hole in it.

LOL - that is a during build picture. Picked because it shows how you mount a lokar shifter. Rest assured that all the holes are welded up and the shifter plates and boots are installed.

that's not as bad then. I still say there's nothing wrong with a decent cable setup.

one question:

as i'm looking for shifters for a TF999 i see a lot for TF727

so will all them work for the 999? i'm just not seeing any that specify the 999.

thanks,

John

Maybe. For sure the 904 shifters work with a 999
