Is any one running a hydraulic throwout bearing set up on their 465. I would rather avoid another funky bracket with a slave cylinder. almost seems too easy.

Why would you want to go to an internal slave?

Or are you just talking about an external hydraulic slave? 88-up 465s where hydraulic with an aluminum bellhousing.

wouldn't an internal slave cylinder be easier

I considered running a hydraulic throwout bearing but chose against it because they are somewhat unreliable and unpredictable. The setup is very easy if you buy the setup tool to measure. Speedway sells them cheaper than anybody and you can also pickup the setup tool from them too.

im runnin a speed way throw out with a 60s models brake master cylinder, off of heavey duty chevy truck. it has worked well so far ...getting the right amount of throw on your pedals is kinda tricky....... it leaks like hell sometimes..... but always works now im runnin a new process with it and still no problem so far

Personally I don't like them, others may disagree, but if an internal one starts leaking, it will destroy the clutch, and requires a complete dissassembly to replace. Never had an issue with an external, other than the odd one that is a pain in the ass to bleed.

That, and a factory setup, is better than a custom setup anyday on wear items, the easier replacements are to obtain, the less downtime when it comes time to replace it.

Close. 86-up are hydro. And I agree with the others - don't run an internal slave for all the reasons listed above, not to mention cost.
