I'd like to hear from your experience …..
I have two engines one is a complete 88 GM 350 TBI which was installed in a
GMC Van Pathfinder.
The second one is a 94 Camero's engine 350's, LT1 with Aluminum heads, but with out the injection system ,intake manifold , distributor ,wire harnesses , water pump etc
Both two need overhaul , and the main idea was to buy new performance parts from PAW or Summit – and one of them will find his way into my new rockbuggy .

Now – taking the heads from the LT1 and install them onto my GMC engine is not recommended because of their reverse flow cooling – it won't suit the GMC block.
But to enhance the power of the GMC engine look's easier then to enhance the LT1 .

What do you think ?
Thanks

i would just have the lt1 rebuilt by the shop of your choice (900), put a miled cam in it, preformer aluminum intake, carb of your choice (or injection if you have the money) headders, and be happy with the 300+ hp (275 stock) i have one in my 97 camaro and think they kick ass!

Depends if you wheel the truck or just want a trick motor. Only downside to the LT1 is the OptiSpark is right down by the balancer............in other words, if you do any water wheeling you may be fawked. Plus if you're missing the entire intake/injection system you're gonna spend big $ getting all the parts you need.

I'd stay TBI and sell the LT1 to help finance the TBI rebuild.

like i said befor, rebuild the lt1 and then run a carb/intake instead of the injection. ps if your looking to sell the lt1 i might be intorested

Don't forget to figure in the ease of trail repairs. Which would be easier, finding someone with a regular old long water pump for a 350, or an LT1 part?

I don;t pretend to know that much about the LT1's, but with my limited knowledge, I'd suggest taking the $ you would be sinking in to the induxtion for the LT1 (or at least the funky parts that would be unique to an LT1 build) and turn that 350 in to a 383. If you want to look cool, and be able to say "Hey, it's an LT1!" then go the other way.
