I have issues right now with my roll cage contacting the windshield wiper assembly on my 1972 fj40.

Would there be any reason not to drill some mounting holes in the bottom of the windshield frame and mount the assembly like that?

I know other models came like this but I'd have to buy a new frame and wiper assembly and this seems alot simpler.

In theory it would work. You would also have to look at what the holes in the frame look like. I can't remember if the outside frome is dimpled around the wipper rods that the arms attach to. But a new frame is cheap and much cleaner.

a lot more $$$$, but I'd get a newer style windshield frame with the wipers instead. Esp if you plan to keep your dash.
