Truck died going down the highway and won't restart. For some reason the lift pump can't build fuel pressure. Normally it goes down the road with 10-12 lbs of fuel pressure. I bled the lines and am getting fuel into the pump, but cracking the injector lines still gets no fuel out. What do I need to check next?

This happened to me just a few months ago.
I fought and fought bleeding the injectors.
It finally worked.
I had a vacuum build up in my tank and it cut off the fuel flow to the pump.
I knew it wasn’t the INJ pump as it was replaced a year earlier and I had the in-tank fuel pump installed at that time.
Keep at it until you can get the fuel to come out of the banjos at the injectors. If you can get two or three squirting the others will catch, if you can get the engine to run any at all.
I burp the gas cap every so often now and have not had the problem since.
But, when it quit I had just transferred fuel from the bed tank to the main and the bed tank wasn't vented at all. I think that's what set up the massive vacuum in the main tank.
I have since added a fuel solenoid to a vent line that opens when I'm transferring from the back tank to the main.
Hope this helps. I fought mine off and on for 6 weeks until it finally started.
One other thing, are you getting any codes?
I never got any trouble codes and that's what lead me to my solution.
Good Luck.

Do you have any codes? if you dont have a scanner Turn the key on then off then on then off then on if there are any codes they should come up. But even if your lift pump took a dump the truck shouldnt have died going down the road. How much fuel is in the truck. Gauge sender fail alot and it can say you have a half tank and be empty. There needs to be over 5 gallons in the tank for the pick up to get fuel. Are you cracking the lines when cranking and pumping the throtle?

No codes. I thought the same thing about the fuel level, and added 10 gallons to it with no change. Every once in a while, it will build about 5 lbs of pressure by bumping the starter and letting the pump run, but as soon as you start cranking, the pressure drops back to zero.

I cut a stick to wedge between the seat and gas pedal to hold the throttle open while I bled and bumped the fuel pump.
It took me a long time and a lot of cussing and trying to finally get the air bubbles out of the system.
When my VP44 died the year before, it would run, but only on one or two cylinders. I was trucking across Arizona running 75 all day and it just started dropping cylinders. It kept on getting worse and belching black smoke like you wouldn't believe until it wouldn't run fast enough to be safe on the highway at night. Lucky for me it was around midnight in the middle of nowhere. Nothing but trucks and me on the road. It would die occasionally. I could restart it but it only ran at a snails pace.
$4300 dollars later at the Dealership in Blythe CA and it was all better.
The alternative is not cheap.

Is the pump turning on? When i've ran mine out before sometimes the pump wouldn't kick on. I fixed that by wiring the pump switch power into a key on power. Problem solved.

Finally got it going again. Apparently the fuel level sending unit went out or there is a hole in the pick up. I eventually got it bled out and fired up, seems to be fine now. I took it down the the gas station and pumped 26 gals of fuel into it even though the gauge was already showing a half tank. Anythings better than having to buy a new injection pump though!

Good to hear a happy ending for you.

Buy one of these and save your self $1200 or so down the road. Your lift pump will go out then your injector pump will take a shit. This pump will keep plenty of fuel to your pump to keep it alive longer.
