Well? How many do you own, how many do you want to own?

I have 2, apparently one too many for the wife. The project one has to go, but the money from the sale should finance my other project. What's a married man to do but give in for a little piece and quite.

Tom, I know that you will be publishing the Time Life Series on owning Scouts later today...how do you keep up with them all?

I have three currently. Trying to get to one. All were given to me and one even runs.

A 1971 2WD, 3spd, with both half cab and full cab. Using the Tub, and tops. Also goingt through the engine - Looks strong and should run great.

A 1974 4WD, broken front axle, 4 spd, tree fell on full cab. dented on all quarters. But it has a limited slip rear and a roll bar. (Good Parts rig) Most of the drive train and such has been spoken for.

A 1976 4WD, Auto (727), limited slip rear, Bikini top, roll bar. Straight body, but far too much rust. Swapping tubs with the 71. Only had parts of the engine when I got it, so the 71 will donate it's engine. Also plan to mate the Dana 20 from the 74 to the Dana 20 in this rig. Should crawl preety well.

As I can finish pulling a truck apart - the unwanted parts go bye-bye, quickly.

So I think 3 are the right amount for building one. But I have had several offers in the past for more of these FREE. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Race rig: will probably be scraped, in bad shape, probably get one of NWMud's hulks to replace.
T-all: Scraped, the thing was TRASHED, stored 10+ years on the coast. Can we say SALT WATER

Additions: '72 D-series. On way to scraper, "aquired" for clutch linkage, springs and other misc parts, anyone what the CAB??? My keep the frame for future project.

2 would be ideal. One to wheel and beat up, one to have pretty and shiny to run around town in.

Course, I only have one, and can barely keep up with that one.

But, I made an offer on the Hurst SSII. That would become my daily driver. Think they will accept my offer?

Sadly, I DON'T keep up with them all!

My yellow '72 (my first Scout) has been a "resto" project for several years now. I managed to get the engine/trans/t'case out (and then blew up the engine and had it rebuilt and is now in my racer) and the seats.. but haven't progressed much since then.

Problem was, when I had two rigs, I started to collect a number of spare parts, and someone GAVE me two more Scouts to build a race truck out of.. and that just sounded like a lot of fun, and I already had most of the parts and...

Now I spent time fixing/fixing up my race truck.

The trail rig gets neglected - tho' part of that is the engine went on it, then I spent the winter building the motor and proptly destroyed the tub, and now I can't really drive it in the winter..

I bought the Travelall to tow stuff with, and ended up making it a daily driver/ trail rig last winter!

I bought a '74 SII for my mom over the summer. It just needs a carb and the 727 rebuilt (no Reverse), but I haven't even touched it. Never did much with the '79 I bought with the intention of giving to her, either - 'cept to yank the wide box. <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">

I haven't done much with my crewcab other than install the hitch, onboard air, and drive it.. heater still doesn't work, there's no interior..

*sigh*

But, y'see, I NEED all of these IHs!

When I'm done it'll look something like..

'72 SII - mild lift/31-ish tires, close 4spd, primarily street/highway machine.

'77 SII - body modified for the 36+ tires for trail riding.

'77 SII - stripped race rig.

'74 200 Travelette - heavy hauler

Mom'll have a '74 SII "stocker".. my GF has a '68 800 that I struggle to find the time to help her with (did the bedliner and rollbar, and managed to not get one of the filler hoses on just right).

Dunno what to do with the T'all yet.. In some ways, I'd rather have a 4dr 4x4 Travelall for a daily driver in the winter (LWB, 4-doors, roomy - great for going skiing), OTOH once I have the '72 SII back on the road it should be my DDriver again.

heck, there's still the '77 Traveler-trailer I need to finish..

First, the shop!

Wired the "work bench" wall last night - just need to buy one GFCI outlet to finish it.. then a couple 20amp 120Vs.. and the interior wiring should be 'bout done.

Yeah, I am a multimillionaire disguised as a poor working man. That is why I am still waiting on $$ for my high cross over steering and crawler box.

Here is a delimma. Had a big sale go through today. Kind of an unusual one. Enough profit in it to buy a crawler box. Or, I can buy the new chair the wifey wants, get a front roll cage, and pay some stuff off with the balance.

<sigh> The mature, reasonable person is going to get the front cage and pay a bunch of stuff off, but that crawler box sure is appealing.


The picture deal? I hadn't changed mine. It was the same as always. 100x100. Problem is that they changed their code to limit the number of characters allowed for a picture link. It cut off the last 2 letters of my link, so the picture ended .j When a picture has a bad link like that, the rainbow picture automatically comes on.

I fixed it. But that was Pirate error, not mine!!!

Naw, it was a joke.

My BinLaw, however, inherited a couple million when his folks died last year (wife's sister's husband)

I am happy for him, but wish his wife would quit waving money around in front of mine. They are building a brand new custom house, of course, refurnishing the whole thing, etc. Every week my sis in law drags my wife out to see this new place, then drags her to the store to see the new furniture, curtains, etc, etc, etc.

<sigh>

You know what though, they really are not any happier now than they were before. He bought/built a jeep with every wheeling accessory imaginable, but has taken it out only once. They have a brand new Excursion, or Expedition or something with every amenity, big new mansion, etc, etc, etc.

Still not *happy*

Well, i have owned 26 or 27, most became parts for others, and i have 12 complete trucks now. 2-66's 1 for parts other next trail rig, 68 V8 parts truck, 70 RHD parts truck, 72 parts truck/project,73 parts truck, 2-76 Terras 1 parts, 1 the Terra-izer,79 Terra project, 2 1980's 1 parts truck RHD, other diesel daily driver, 1 72 3/4 ton 4x4 tow rig, 1 66 Travelall panel truck storage unit, and whats left of about 26 scouts. I get rid of one and 2 takes it's place. Luckly my parents don't mind, i guess they see it better then buying durgs.
