This is just to go out have fun and meet new peeps and just enjoy the sport with good people. Anyone from the area is welcome!! (NM or CO)

What are the recommended rig requirements, I'm not familiar with the trails in that area.

Whoa, don't go in March. Still way too much snow up there, I doubt you even make it to Jaws 1.

I'm in. My wife and I were just talking about hitting up Blanca as soon as the snow melts.

When is the earliest the trail is passable? May?

Ya i was talking with Eric from Co. Welding in springs and he was telling how much more snow was up there this year. Guess you can say im chomping at the bit lol. We did the Liberty trail the end of Jan and was nice, was windy up top but once you dropped down in was a very nice day. We here in Raton NM have been passed over so many times with snow it's crazy lol.

I'll have to keep an eye on warm weather to melt some snow then.

As for trail rig requirements there are vids of near stock jeeps making it... little hairy but I would say at least a rig with 33's and the rear locked and a 4" lift... With a winch you can get away with a bit more lol.

If you have never been to Blanca its not just one monster trail that is a never ending rock garden, its got a streem you cross a few times with mild trail and then an agressive section, then trail and then section.

Here is a coupld vids from Youtube of the sections. I'm not in these just pulled them off the site.

Hope this gets the blood flowin lol
