I put a "sheep" d300 behind my 727 and it has the "strap" type yokes on it from the sheep. These strap styles SUCK, and since I have some spare d20 u-bolt style yokes sittin around I'd like to swap em. Does anybody know if they're the same spline count, and if they interchange? I could pull one and see, but I don't want get greasy today! Much thanks bruddas!

No, they aren't the same. When I put the heep 300 in the racer, I had to buy new.
I have heard that the strap style can hold up to the Mopar muscle cars, so they should hold up to off-roading. I had to replace mine because the bolts for the straps were corroded so bad we couldn't get them off. The yard had torched the u-joints apart, which didn't help.

okay- the dana 300 is 26 spline and most dana 20's are 10 - but there were a few with 26 you might get lucky- only way to know is to pull them and check- Jess

Yup, they're the same.
As was said before, the D20 could have fine or course splines. I happen to have the fine spline shafts in my '79 but the course spline shafts are more common. Only way to tell is to pull a yoke off.
