Check out the Wolf's new paint.

http://www.rightcoastcrawler.com/billaVista/Wolf/Wolf.htm

1 gallon gloss red, 1 gallon flat black - $35.99
2 cheap brushes - $3.55
1 gallon varsol - $3.95
Too much paint in my hair and up my nose - free

Having the Wolf look as good as it performs............priceless!

WOW! Not bad for $42. Did you use the foam brushes or did you use cheap regular brushes? Just curious

Looks Good Bill, but I had to look up one word.

VARSOL is the trademark for the Exxon line of mineral spirits.

I started with a foammie, but it fell apart in no time, so I ended up using a 3" and a 1" regular brush.

Varsol is like a household word around here....like Kleenex is to tissue. Must be a Canadian thing :flipoff2:

Honestly , I like yours allot better. Looks great man. I cant believe you did that with a brush.

Now paint those wheels so they can be fresh with the rest of the rig.

No, forget painting the weels, and put some new wheels with 46" XML's on there. You know how awesoe that thing would look with those tires. Your wheels stick out so far , that you should be able to fit them.

Looking good Bill! Much better than BAJG's krusty the clown impression! Stick with one primary color, keep the rest friggin black!
At least his junk is looking half presentable now.

Okay, I'll ask. How the hell did you get the paint so smooth while using a brush???

Doh...I should have done it red and white:flipoff2:

Still no rear disk's Bill?

Workin' on it. Them parts add up...and all my pennies are going into the tow rig at the moment so it can pass inspection.

I cant believe you did that with a brush

I must admit, after 2 coats with the brush, I dusted the flat panels with a red spray bomb, just to even out the worst bruch strokes. But the vast majority and all the black was brush only.

put some new wheels with 46" XML's on there

Those require 20" rims don't they? What's the bill for 8 lug 20" steel beadlocks, I wonder

Ok, but I think you know I'd have to insist on some different tires :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

The sides and trunk / front fenders were dusted with a spray bomb after 2 brush coats. The rest and all black just took 2-3 coats and patience

Ha, interesting question:flipoff2:

It's actually inversely proportional to $$. The poorer you are, the more you seem to find :D

You mean I don't have to pay 7 grand like on the 6x6 TJ to get a good paint job???????

Yes the 395/85R20(46-47" tall) Michelins use 20" rims. I think RockStomper sells custom 1 peice sheel 20" wheels with beedlocks , and any stud pattern for $285 per wheel? That is alot of money for me , and even more for you in Canada.

I can't afford beadlocks right now, while I am building all the rest of my rig. For now, I will just have to run some Mog wheels, then when I have some cash, I will add on some beadlocks from RockStomper, or somewhere. I am hoping that the 9" wide Mog wheels hold onto the tires pretty good by themselves. You have to put about 50 pounds of pressure on the sidewall to squeeze the bead down to 9". Also, I think it should be pretty hard to walk a 2" wide bead over the safety bead of the wheel.

Forget about putting brakes on that rear axle. While you are going to be getting 20" wheels anyway;) , you might as well just get the complete package, and get some Mog axles that already have 20" wheels(+), and already have brakes(++). Sell your current axles, and that should give you more than enough money to pay for a good set of Mogs.

About what some people mentioned aerlier about the paint. First of all someone mentioned flames, then someone mentioned red and white. How about adding white flames? That would be one seriously cool paint job. I've never seen a scheme like it before, and it is completely bass ackwards of the old school red flames.

Mmmmmmmm MOG axles! Way outa my budget!

I'm struggling over whether to eventually go with 39.5 or 42" TSLs. The bitch of it is, they are 16.5, meaning new wheels, meaning it's prob not worth beadlocking my current 16" rims. But, although from my experience the Mich's I have don;t grip nearly as well as a TSL or SX, they are damn near bulletproof...and I can get them surplus for $50 Cdn each!! Compare to over $600 for a single 42" TSL.

Decisions.......

White flames would be very cool.....

but for know, I'm just going to stick with the Wolf decals
