I HAVE A 258 IN LINE 6 WITH THE J.F.I. ELECTRO MOTIVE FUEL INJECTION ON IT. IT STARTED RUNNING ROUGH ON THE CON ON THE 4TH, BUT MADE IT HOME. LAST TIME I WENT IT GOT WORSE AND NOW IT WONT HARDLY RUN AT ALL. IT SEEMS TO IDLE DECENT BUT AT HIGH RPMS IT SPITS SPUTTERS AND BACK FIRES THEN DIES. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHERS AND TRIED SOME THINGS BUT NEED SOME MORE ADVICE I HOPE SOMEONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM. THANKS LETME KNOW

SOUNDS LIKE YOU"RE NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL!!!!! CHECK YOUR FUEL FILTER FOR CRAP AND YOUR FUEL PUMP FOR PRESSURE OUTPUT!!!!!

WHY ARE WE YELLING!?!?!?!?!?!?

Make sure all of your sensors are hooked up and are working correctly. I had a friend with the mopar kit that had about the same problem, and he changed to throttle positioning sensor to fix it. I would check what code the computer is giving you. It will be the same as the factory codes and you can find them in a service manual.

I've had 3 different FI probs in the past few months.

'00 TJ would run fine, but every few days the check engine light would come on. Bad O2 sensor.

'97 GC intermittently ran rough. It would lean out and backfire. Bad O2 sensor.

'94 Isuzu Rodeo intermittently ran rough. It would run rich, but it only did it on the road so I never smelled raw fuel. I finally noticed the black ring on the tailpipe was getting rather thick. I pulled a lean exhaust code from the computer. Bad O2 sensor.

Sounds like yours is running lean. Either your not getting enough fuel to the injectors or something is telling the computer to run lean.

Double check your fuel pressure.
If the pump is going bad it will be fine at idle but will fart out when you need the volume at higher speeds.

Possibly Fuel pressure, Unlikely the Timing curve, Bad Fuel injectors, Clogged Fuel filter, Hard to tell. :flipoff2:
