So I have been wanting to sponsor a tt and well pistol seems like a hell of a guy to work with , So far i like what I see, He's an interesting character no doubt. I guess there putting some Smaller cars together also for rent out. Baja adventures and we will be working with him on those also. His truck I must say is innovative like all TT's , The new gig is the gear reduction on the th-400 made by tube works ( might I add that boy is interesting also ) . And 4:10 gears now hmm- anyways he's getting a 1480 rear shaft slight mods to the spline for improved lube - and our exclusive dual boot design to keep dirt out and grease in. I am more interesting on learning more about the in's and out's mechanically on TT's - So far I learned that a trend in desert it gears more like back in the day and gearing that gives advantage off the back of the trans . I also learend its friggen whoopin expensive 6 k for a low range box- and tune works is a bad arse mechanical minded guy- but not so full of himself to talk about stuff. I've seen a lot of drama and hype around Pete over the years, but I can say without any doubt he is my favorite TT driver. Mostly because he refrained from killing me in the wash at Parker a few years back and blared his siren early enough for me to get out of his way. We were limping with no brakes and a locked up rack & pinion starting our 2nd lap and he was starting his 3rd lap very close to leading overall. This was the same race we roosted Welchel while he was looking at Rubby's TT entering the "Python". He didn't appear to enjoy that as much as we did.

I'm sure it helped that my buddy was codawgin', but he did tell me later that Pete said we were really hard to pass. Thanks Pete! Oh, and good luck keeping him in shafts, Jesse.

On an unrelated note, my bro always mistakes him for Boris Said when we bump into him... I wouldn't menton that, though. :flipoff2:

I think gearing is the most important finishing touch you can give a vehicle.

I can say without any doubt he is my favorite TT driver.

I have met him several times. VERY smart guy, speaks very well...and he is just plain BAD ASS. My kids took a pic with him at WE Rock in Reno and they have the pics hanging up in thier bedrooms, so they are fans too.....

here's a cut and paste from the RD forum - some were thinking 1480 may be to small -
Just for the record 1480 is close to 2 1/2 ton , Max torque with a grease-able U joint 6,489 ft-lbs tested first hand . Max for say a 1350 or one ton U joint 3,300 range . And the splines twist way before that- we were testing with a 4130 heat treated 1 11/16 moly spline set-up . Max torque thought to be on a series 30 8,500 ft/lbs range just for comparison . the non grease-able 1480 max torque around 800 ft-lbs more then the grease-able . Just some #'s for everyone to enjoy. these were tested with an accurate torque fuse system on a 1/2 shaft application that had aprox 4 times more torque than a driveline would ever see. This is what its all been working up to for me . Jess

Pete's got all the skills and experience to win in TT. The guy hustle's his ass off to keep his program and dream alive and that's the part some just don't get. Like him, get his humor....................or not (see how I did that...........) he's always honest.

I've been partnered with Pete's racing for a few years and he's always returned more than the investment. Good luck in SF - for those that don't know Pete runs REALLY good at this race!

Pistol is one of those guys who you nearly get into a fistfight with figuring him out and then all is good....For me, he and his team and family is more fun to hang with than the others...
