This may seem silly, but Ive never seen an answear...I am refering to the over length from the ball joint to the TRE..the D44 is like 5"+ and the D60 is 8"+.... WHY?Are they different because of the stock chevy stuff and the way they bolt up under there original pickup set up and they required a different "throw" or something?....Im just curious and no one can answear it that I have asked outside of PBB...THANKS

if you look at how the d44 arm mounts and add in the length from the dle hole to the stud + the stud to the b/j the lengths are nearly dead on.

even then you could argue that the smaller ujoint of the d44/10b cannot handle as much steering turn as the 1480/d60 joint.

Ok, so it has to do in part w/ the actual turning radius? I asked it in the jeep section because its a pain to match these axles to a jeep w/ leafs and still maintain full lock to lock and no binding..I guess you could get a custom d60 HS arms cut/machined to d44 length ( or close to if you wanted)..If not I would have to move the axle back so my TRE/ DRaglink wouldnt bind or relocat the box another 2"( or so ) on te front of the frame...I was just curious, but it makes sense know that you said it..
