I've got a 95 YJ with 1.5" RE SOA springs(1444) SOA in the front with 5/8" lift boom shackles (total lift ~2 1/4"). I am looking for input as to which aftermarket XJ (with full mil wrap) lift springs to run SUA with 5/8" boom shackles in order to keep it level. I am thinking 3.5" lift BDS springs would be close, can anyone provide their opinion.

Propane 350 Swap/TH400/D300 w/ Pro Rock 60's front and rear with 38" rubber. FYI

Thanks

Whats your reasoning on soa front and sua rear? If you go with a lift spring in the rear w/ military wrap thats going to be a pretty stiff ride compared to the front . We need a little bit more info what are you trying to achieve? Looks like you want to stretch it , and worried about axle wrap? And dont want to built an anti-wrap bar so you want to do a sua in the rear.

You nailed it. I want to control axle wrap while stretching the wheelbase. I dont want to contend with breaking stock XJ springs constantly. Although, I do have a MORE traction bar that I could utilize.

There's a few good stories on here about getting real bad nose dive with the setup you're talking about. You already have a trackbar, and it's not like XJ springs are expensive.. If you weren't SOA in the front already, I'd vote SUA all around.

Your more likely going to bend or possible brake your front main leaf with shackle forward. But dont let that stop you. My current setup is waggy front springs all the way around and the front i military wraped using an xj's main leaf, no broken or bent springs here. The rears are not military wraped but are in the near future using the same process as i do have an anti wrap bar and axle wrap is controlled and the flex and stability is great. Also the waggy spring give you a 4" stretch two in the frt and 2 in the rear. With offset spring perchs you can achieve an extra 1in at both ends. No need to move the gas tank, comp cut corners or any of that. But i would agree not to do soa front and sua rear. Choose one or the other. Soa will give you plenty of flex and the use of flat spring to add lift. Sua is more bolt on, and if done with the right springs can be a good thing, but will never achieve the flex of a soa, unless you use all those goofy gadets. I like my soa and would never go back to sua. But thats just me.

If you are running "1.5" RE SOA springs(1444) SOA in the front with 5/8" lift boom shackles (total lift ~2 1/4")." your front lift is more like 8 or so inches right, because the spring over is netting about 6. It is going to be very hard to find cherokee leaves that will give you that much lift when spring under.

On my yj I bastardized a xj and 2.5 inch RE pack to get about 3 inches overall lift when spring under. which worked pretty well

the other leaves I was going to run were pro comp 53111. They are 3.5 inch lift cherokee leaves for about 100 bucks apice.
