alright guys. my buddy has a 2001 dodge half ton, it has the v8, its 4x4, idk if that matters. anyways, he was driving back to town from eldorado (about 30 miles away) when a coolant hose blew, leaving him stranded. he went and got a new hose today, replaced the coolant, etc. when he started the truck, he said that it felt like he had to keep giving it gas so that it wouldnt die. he also said that when he put it in gear, it would barely move, power steering doesnt work like it used to, brakes feel funny, and it's running shitty. it also shakes/vibrates real bad when the engine is running.

can all of these things be caused by the hose blowing up? is there a central problem? or does he need to just fix everything individually? do you think that he melted a hose?

oh and i had a type its a 2002, not a 2001, if that matters.
so you guys think its a head gasket? would replacing the head gasket solve the power steering/ brake problems? or are those problems present because the engine is running shitty?

yep, all are powered by the engine, if it isnt putting out any power there isnt enough to run them.

True. The hose popping is more of a symptom than a cause.
most likely it was running warm/hot, or poorly just before the
hose failed.

Warped head, blown head gasket. That sucks man, but it's a Dodge. Should have check the warning labels before purchase.
