Had a D44 rebuilt, new gears and an ARB put in at the local gear shop. Put the shafts in today and when rotating a shaft it feels like the gears are stripped out? Best way I can describe it. At times when turning the shaft it 'catches' and feels smooth and the pinion spins, but when in 'open' and the opposite shaft turns the opposite way it feels rough/stripped. Is this normal?

Is it just an axle and axle shafts or is all the other crap, brakes tires etc, also spinning?

just the axles
Almost feels like the axles arent all the way in, or 31 spline instead of 30 if that makes any sense. Axles are going in, easy just feel odd when rotating them. If I rotate the pinion it feels fine

Well whats the story?
Does it feel like ratchety, or grindy or like stick~move, stick~move stick~move.
Can you spin it buy hand or need some leverage?
Im guessing knew spider gears need wearing in
Does it feel like you twisted the head off a bolt each change of gear teeth?
Whats the axle runout look like , what is it again? front axle,
Anybody else........
