: 4BT Cummins...anyone know if you can buy them new?

Yes, you can get them new from a Cummins dealer. They are $$$ though.

Yeah I figured that, they are pretty much the same as every other dealer....pricing themselves out of the game lol

not neccesarily...they may be expensive but the industrial engine game is a whole different ball park compared to what most of us do. all diesel engines are expensive, it's just how it is...

buy a nice used one with lower miles and it will probably run as long as you want it to. if it doesn't, rebuild it...

you cant buy a new 4bt anymore. It has been replaced by the QSB4.5L, just like there is not a 5.9 anymore, replaced by the 6.7L.

Mechanically injected 4 cylinder "B" engines are still readily available new from Cummins for agricultural & construction applications in 3.3L, 3.9L and 4.5L displacements and the electronic QSB (Interact and/or HPCR) is also available in 3.9L, 4.5L, 5.9L and 6.7L displacements as well:

The P-pumped B5.9 is still available brand new as well. Also, Cummins factory remans are available for any of these engines.
