Info- 97 Wrangler 4.0L Auto. 32RH. 52,000 miles

Problem- Did a little snow wheeling and now my tranny is messed up. Forward is fine no difference since the problem started. The problem is I have to get my RPMs up to about 3000 for it to move in reverse.

Read somewhere to check the fluid to see if it was low. Fluid was checked with the jeep warm and in neutral. It was low so i added ATF 4+ like the manual states. That hasnt fixed the problem. The filter and the original oil prob has never been changed.

Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Assuming your fluid level is correct
If I recall correctly reverse is controlled by the rear band. That would mean a few possibilities:
1) Seal on the piston that controls the band is leaking
2) Band is worn out or out of adjustment.

Unless you are into rebuilding your own tranny, I'd contact a trans shop
