: Horsepower and tq estimate ford 302carb

hey
iam just about to drop in my 302 back into my 4x4 and was wondering what kind of hp/tq this thing will have.

87efi 302 block
stock 87bottom end(crank,piston, piston arms)
comp camXE256H camshaft---http://www.compcams.com/Technical/DynoSheets/XE256H-10_001.asp

just replaced the pushrods i just got the exhaust ported on the cylinder heads
stock valves
hooker longtube headers going to straightpipe
edelbrock performer intake.
holly 670cfm truck avenger carb
msd distributor
msd plugs and ignition system
removed ac system

and its gonna be bolted to a 4sp borg warner tranny

im assuming this is a non h.o dog from a truck or crown vic.

180hp 240ft lbs

if it is a h.o from a mustang or lincoln.

230hp 310ft lbs

why are you putting a 670 on a 302.

180hp 240ft lbs

if it is a h.o from a mustang or lincoln.

230hp 310ft lbs



it came out of my 87f250 i ripped all the efi system off.
yea those numbers sound a little low i mite just spend and get the aluminum edelbrock heads

Depends on where you want your rpm range. We ran 3 350 Holley 2-barrel's on a 289 when I worked at K-Bar-S, but it was reved to 7500 routinely!! My guess is you'll be taking jet size's out of it.

save your money and just put a set of 96-97 ford explorer v8 heads on it and the roller cam and lifters from the same engine.

it will bring your 302 up to 260-280hp 330tq

the roller cam is the money maker in the 302 it also changes the firing order so do some research on it first.

sorry ford truck v8s are just about the most under powered units around but they make great low end torque great for wheeling the 97-98 explorer engine is the one to have factory rated at 235hp and 345tq
