: Transmission Cooler Lines

I just ordered a Transmission Oil Cooler and I'm wondering which line to pull to route the cooler through. I have a Haynes repair manual, but I can't find anything about these lines. Does it matter if it's feed, or does it need to be the return?

Either way, I don't know which is which. I would feel which is hotter, but working with fuel lines and gas tank right now so I can't start it.

Under the rig, looking forward. Which should I send to the cooler, LEFT or RIGHT? Does it matter?

are you going to run the new cooler with the stock radiator? or just the new cooler? I am using this cooler http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DER-13700/ and I just routed one line in and one line out because it didnt matter which direction the fluid ran through it.

the one I have is basically the same size as the one you posted, but without the fan. I plan on mounting it to the front of the radiator on the right side and having the left line from the trans going into the radiator, out into the cooler, and then out of the cooler back to the trans. I have a power steering fluid cooler to bolt up as well, so after everything's mounted I'll look into getting a fan to cool all three at once.

i have a b&m cooler i got from 4wd hardware for my tj. my setup runs thru the rad first then the cooler and on into the trans. my feed line to the rad has an arrow pointing towards the rad on the fitting. i left that one alone and diconnected the return line from the rad and connected it to the input line on the cooler and then the cooler output to the trans return.

I'll post up some pictures since I'm sure someone will search this in the future. After searching more on the web, and reading some manuals I found that it really doesn't matter which way it goes. The radiator is the stock "cooler" so it doesn't really matter. I could bypass it by using an aftermarket cooler only so going through both shouldn't hurt.

While I was in there I decided to throw a power steering fluid cooler as well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. And thanks for the help guys.
