I have a 1989 Mitsubishi Montero 3.0 V6 4 door that I have been looking for a fuel tank for. The current fuel tank that is in it has rusted out around where the fuel level sending unit goes and the rest looks like it's about to go as well. I have looked everywhere and I can't seem to find one. I have even looked at numerous salvage yards and the few that even have gen1 monteros ether have had the tanks pulled already or they are rusted out as well. I really need a new tank guys and I have looked everywhere that I can possibly think of. Any help would be more than greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks but I use car-part all the time and like I said, I live in the midwest and everything I find is rusted out here. That msrecycling place looks cool but it's in Cali. so yeah. I was actually leaning more towards a new tank if I can find one but even the dealership and NAPA and JCW can't get it so yeah. I think I'm screwed. I prolly end up having to get a fuel cell or somthing and make it work that way but it can't stay like this because my fuel gauge dosen't work and it's so rusty I can't get it out to change it and on top of not knowing how much fuel I have if I fill it more than 3/4 of the way full it leaks. I know this isn't the most common problem or vehicle but it's a problem non the less that I need to fix.
