I am looking for a 22 bolt with a detachable mag. Preferably something that the trigger can be tuned on, and easy bbl replacement if needed. Easy bbl also means easy to remove so it can be threaded.

I was looking at the Ruger 77-22, but fawk they are expensive

Ruger 96/22.

10/22 mags, FAST lever action, and the same barrel and trigger parts as the 10/22 if memory serves.

Savage has a couple little .22's that are probably just what you want. You could even get one with an accutrigger I think

Might I suggest a CZ 452. However, the 452 line is currently being phased out and "updated" with the interchangeable barrel 455 line.

Threaded barrel to receiver
Tunable trigger
Awesome billet receivers (stout for a .22LR)
Hammer forged barrels
Detachable 5 or 10 shot mags...but they are stupid expensive
You can get a factory CZ 452 with a threaded muzzle

If you want a decently copied version of a CZ 452, you could get a Norinco JW15.

Ok that looks pretty cool. Basic model is a a bit more then a basic 10/22, but still cool. And an integrated 10-22 bbl will fit... hmmm.

Really want a bolt, but thats a great idea.

Does the 77-22 use a 10-22 magazine?

Pretty cool. Same price as the ruger lever. In between the Ruger bolt and the savage bolt.

I have a feeling I am going Savage.

I want something thats going to work with the subsonics and can. Thinking bolt is the way to go.

I got very lucky that first day with the two shots out of the suppressed P22 with subsonics. In a 10 round mag, I get 2-3 rounds working properly, the rest stove pipe. Same with the GSG.
Wasn't much better without the supressor.

what is a good .22 hunting ammo.

I have tons of the federal bulk pakcs. i swear I am getting 1:30 duds. Would like to see if there is something more reliable.

All the Wolf Match I've shot was very reliable. Or you go with cheaper CCI GreenTag. These aren't exactly hollow point hunting ammo though...not that .22LR hollow points expand all that much.

I switched to Aguila super extra subsonics and haven't had a single dud out of three bricks so far.

The neat thing about the lever action Ruger is that it has a very short lever throw. All the advantages of the bolt gun with a faster cycle rate.

The Ruger bolt action will use the same mags as the 10-22. The only difference I know of is the profile of the plastic housing on the bottom-one is flat, the other rounded to fit the contour of the stock.

The Savage Mark II BV has a heavy barrel, and I believe it is still threaded from the factory. I know mine has one with a knurled nut on it. The BTV is the same thing with a thumbhole stock.

The best source for magazines is directly from Savage. They have the best price generally and IIRC flat rate shipping (and they have them in stock). Magazines come in 5 and 10-round varieties.

The Savage section of Rimfirecentral has a ton of info on the various models and tuning/maintenance.

I have a 96/22 thread in here somewhere in OSR. They are hard to find and buy.....but the 10/22 world makes them fun.

I have a Savage Mark II that was threaded and is very accurate, but the trigger sucks and is nonadjustable, but can be worked over using GOOGLE U.

My reworked 10/22 is very quiet. Change out the steel buffer and it quiet down....but the 96/22 is way quieter.
