Did you cut the axles to stock Jeep width? Man, They look short

Question!!! Why the dual exhaust? Just curious if there was some compelling reason why I should consider it.

Ummm..... 415 cubic inches of Chevy Power !!!!

The axles are 6" wider than stock CJ axles, I am going to run 38.5 x 14.50 TSL/SX's with 2.5" of backspacing. It will be nice and wide...

The picture I want to see is, from about the rear differential facing towards the front of the Jeep angled so that you can see the transfer to the front differential. I would like to see how you got enough clearance with the front differential so close to centered as it is.

Having that picture could really help me with my project.

Looks sweet. Hope it works as well as I am sure you have been dreaming about.

my axles are exactly the same width as yours. heres what it looks like with the 38.8 tsl/sx but i have 4" of backspacing plenty wide..

Sean,

Here are the pics, I really don't like having the diff that centered, in the pics above I still had 1" of clearance between the oil pan and driveshaft with the RF compressed. I have another D60 I am going to shorten correctly and move the diff more to the right.

<IMG width=640 height=480 SRC="http://www.pirate4x4.com/ubb/uploads/DSFrnt2.jpg">

It's not perfect but it should work for now, the big problem is the compound angle at the front diff, the diff is rotated up slightly so it is closer than it will we when I get it aligned.

Hope this helps..

6" wider than narrow or widetrack axles?

Station

Thanks for the pictures. That is what I needed to see. Can you tell me the ammount that your differential is offset? The reason I ask(and the reason I asked for the pics) Is that I plan on using a front axle with 6" of offset(Mog axles) which I would like to run with the engine centered in the framerails. I hope that I can make it happen, and your pics just went a little way to confirming that I can make it work.

Thanks,
Sean

The axles were built for a CJ-5 and are 6" wider than them, how much wider is the widetrack?
