: Michelin Fiasco
Greg Davis 10-10-2002, 07:33 AM Well, it's just not going to happen. Turns out that the tires were not represented properly on eBay, so I'm getting my money back.:emb2:
I guess, in a way, this is probably a blessing for me. Those 36's would have wreaked havoc on my driveline and I would have had to upgrade ALOT of components, so it's probably for the best.
But damn, I was SO looking forward to running those meats. Oh well. Things happen for a reason.

Yes.. Yes they do.....
Now go buy some 35"x14.5" Boggers! :flipoff2: :D
Greg, didn't you already cut out your fenders? I'm kinda curious how your beast is looking.

Greg Davis 10-10-2002, 09:32 AM John, no, I haven't started cutting yet, but I have "moved" a little metal around behind the front fender liners. Also removed the factory flares. I'll still probably go ahead and extend my openings since I have the extra set of flares on hand. Besides, you can't have enough fender clearance, can you?;)
roverhybrids 10-10-2002, 09:38 AM Bill's Tires in Pacheco, Calif., 925-689-2678 is selling Michelin tires for the best prices I've seen.
Yea Greg,
Show us some new pics of that clean D2!
Greg Davis 10-10-2002, 10:26 AM Well, nothing really new to show, 'cept I added a full roof rack. Other than that, looks the same. Waiting on some action shots from this past weekend. I'll let you know when they're back.

What you build the rack from, round or square tube? I am doing one up now. Well I don't want to sound like someone else here, so let me clarify. I am drawing it on paper and ordering the mounts. I need to SELL my pre-fabbed one first or the wife will kick me. hard.
:D
Greg Davis 10-10-2002, 12:16 PM Sorry. Didn't mean to mis-lead you. I didn't build the rack. It's a Safety Devices low profile Adventure rack. I had to remove my factory roof rails, but it was worth it. I really prefer the low rack because there's no gap between the bottom of the rack and the roof. I had David Gage at the Thatched Roof Garage import if for me. I was going to build one, but for what I want, the Safety Devices rack has everything, so why try and reinvent the wheel! Plus, I've got enought shiatt going on. Don't need anything else added to my list.
Jtisdale 10-12-2002, 08:27 AM does this mean Jim isn't getting tires either?
Johnathan
Greg Davis 10-15-2002, 06:42 AM Yep, no tires for Jim either.
As far as Tellico goes, unfortunately that's out as well. Already had plans made with family coming in. :(
I'm beginning to think that I'll never make it there. Thanks for the invite though.
